an you imagine never having to think “Why can’t they love me for just being me?” ever again?
There is a simple remedy: love yourself just because you get to be you.
Love the messy and the majestic. Be comfortable in your own skin. Can you love just being you. The you, you want to be.
Have you given yourself permission to love you for being the unique person that you are? I’ll give you permission if you’re looking for someone to do that for you.
We’ve had a lot of reflection this past week on the things we are grateful for. Did you give thanks for you and all the things you like about yourself?
I once told my husband that I was sorry that I wasn’t a sweet, lady-like woman. You know the kind that is a little shy, dresses on the feminine side, and doesn’t excessively her opinions.
His response, “I like that you’re full of piss and vinegar”. That was my most favorite compliment he’s ever given me
I am thankful that I get to be me; even full of piss and vinegar.
I like that I’m going to color my hair pink.
I like that I always have an opinion.
I like that I don’t hang my clothes up every night before I go to bed.
I like that I like tattoos (not enough to get one ).
I like that music moves me deeply and helps me feel the Spirit.
I like that I notice people who need to be lifted up.
I like that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
I like not being given special privileges; like not getting cancer.
I like feeling I don’t need to sacrifice my desires for my adult children’s desires.
I like knowing I am a literal child of God, born inherently with value.
Remember your spiritual DNA comes from Heavenly Parents; you didn’t have to earn value to before you could be thankful; you were born with it.
You can be thankful for the things you like about yourself and still be humble.
When you love you, it becomes natural for you to love others.
